Paul Garcia is a retired payments executive. Most recently, he was the CEO of Atlanta based Global Payments. Paul took the company public in 2001 and Global Payments has grown to enjoy a current market capitalization of over $30 billion.
Paul was honored as 2004 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year® in Financial Services for Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee, and named “one of the best CEOs in America” five times by Institutional Investor. Mr. Garcia was also recognized by the Electronic Transactions Association as the recipient of the 2008-2009 Distinguished Payments Professional Award and became one of the first inductees to the ETA Hall of Fame in 2018. He was recognized by the Technology Association of Georgia as the recipient of the 2012 Lifetime Achievement Award.
Mr. Garcia currently serves on several corporate boards, including United Health Group, The Deluxe Corporation and Repay Corporation. He was a past chair of the Woodruff Arts Capital campaign as well as Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Pace Academy. In addition, he and his wife Carol are active supporters of Covenant House Georgia and proud members of Peachtree Road United Methodist Church.
